Privacy, plainly.

Aelipsis is operated by State Crescent LLC. Web Compare processes files and notes that you explicitly add. The Chrome extension can also process browser pages that you explicitly select. This notice separates the on-device path from the account-based hosted path.

The short version

• Quick check parses files and compares supported terms in your browser. Selected source text is not sent to Aelipsis or an analysis provider for that path, and no account is required.
• Hosted review is a separate account-based choice for broader model-based analysis. Before transfer, Aelipsis identifies what will leave the device and asks you to proceed.
• Five completed hosted analyses are included with a free account each UTC calendar month. Plus includes 100 each UTC month.
• Source content is not used for product analytics. Plus stores a bounded report snapshot only when you explicitly choose Save to account; it does not store the full source bodies.

Web Compare

Web Compare accepts text-based PDFs, DOCX files, TXT files, HTML files, and pasted notes. File parsing and the currently available Quick check run in your browser. Selected source text is kept in the current browser session and is not sent to Aelipsis, OpenAI, TypeSafe/Jev, Supabase, or Stripe for Quick check. Closing or reloading the page clears that temporary working context.

Hosted review is available after account creation. Before each hosted operation, the in-product disclosure identifies what is transferred, why it is needed, and which types of service providers may receive it. The review begins only after you choose to proceed.

What the extension handles

While its side panel is open, Aelipsis lists the titles, web addresses, and favicon addresses of eligible tabs in the current Chrome window so you can choose sources. It reads page content only after you select sources and invoke a comparison. It does not monitor tabs, downloads, or files in the background.

Selected working context can include visible text from chosen pages, filenames and text extracted locally from chosen PDFs or DOCX files, pasted note titles and text, an optional focus, findings, evidence excerpts, and coverage or omission diagnostics.

On-device basic analysis

If you choose Quick check or Basic on-device, source normalization and the limited deterministic analysis run inside your browser or the extension. No analysis request or analysis telemetry is sent to Aelipsis, OpenAI, TypeSafe/Jev, Supabase, or Stripe. PDF and DOCX bytes are parsed locally.

Hosted AI in Web Compare and the Chrome extension

Before a hosted operation, Aelipsis explains that the selected content will leave the device and asks you to choose. Hosted AI sends selected source text, source names and web addresses where present, provenance metadata, and optional focus over HTTPS to the Aelipsis API. TypeSafe/Jev may receive selected evidence passages and the optional focus to make typed comparison and routing decisions. Ambiguous passages may then be sent to OpenAI to generate or verify the structured result. If Jev is unavailable, the operation may fall back to OpenAI for availability.

Aelipsis does not write full hosted request bodies, prompts, source text, source titles, web addresses, excerpts, findings, pasted content, or focus text to its database or application logs. A successful grounded response may remain in API process memory for no more than five minutes to recover a safe retry, then expires automatically.

For OpenAI Responses API requests, Aelipsis sets store: false, so the response is not kept as application state for later retrieval. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the customer opts in. Unless an approved Zero Data Retention or Modified Abuse Monitoring control applies to the Aelipsis API project, OpenAI may retain abuse-monitoring logs containing customer content for up to 30 days. Provider handling can change. The current provider list and material retention changes will be reflected here.

Accounts and service operation

When you create an account, Supabase processes your email, authentication requests, account identifiers, and sessions. Web Compare stores its resulting session in browser storage. The Chrome extension stores its resulting session in the local Chrome profile. Content-free records may store operation identifiers, result state, safe error codes, timing, source counts, token counts, model, estimated cost, allowance counts, and timestamps. These records do not contain the substance of selected sources.

Saved contexts

Source text, findings, evidence, and accepted-current decisions are written to Chrome local storage only after you explicitly save. They remain in that Chrome profile until you choose Forget, clear extension data, or uninstall the extension. Unsaved working context stays in the current side-panel session and can be removed with Clear.

Plus account reports

Plus can save a private report snapshot to your account only after you explicitly choose Save to account. A snapshot contains the report title, comparison mode and criteria, findings, minimal supporting excerpts, source labels and version identifiers, coverage information, revision history, and any decision option or reason you enter. It does not contain the complete source bodies and does not monitor or re-fetch the original sources.

Reports and personal criteria are available in both Web Compare and the Chrome extension while you are signed in. They remain until you delete them or request account deletion. If Plus ends, you can still read, export, and delete existing reports, but you cannot create new reports, revisions, decisions, or criteria without Plus.

Payments

Plus subscriptions use Stripe-hosted Checkout and Customer Portal for billing, card entry, invoices, and subscription management. Aelipsis retains the minimum Stripe customer, Checkout, subscription, Price, billing interval and status, paid-through, cancellation, transaction, and webhook identifiers needed to provide and account for paid access. Card numbers and card security codes remain on Stripe-hosted pages and are not handled by the extension or Aelipsis API.

Website analytics

When enabled in the production Vercel project, Vercel Web Analytics measures page visits and the limited interaction events described by the site. Those events contain the page path, coarse device category, controlled placement labels, and safe error categories. They do not contain email addresses, form text, query strings, or the contents compared in Web Compare or the extension. No advertising or session-replay tracker is intentionally installed.

Service providers

• Render hosts the Aelipsis API when Hosted AI is enabled.
• TypeSafe/Jev may process selected evidence passages and the optional focus for typed comparison and routing decisions.
• OpenAI may process routed ambiguous passages or, during an availability fallback, the bounded selected context for Hosted AI. Aelipsis sends Responses API requests with store: false; OpenAI's separate abuse-monitoring retention may still apply as described above.
• Supabase provides authentication and stores account, allowance, operation, billing, explicitly saved Plus report, revision, decision, and personal-criteria records.
• Stripe provides hosted Checkout, subscription billing, payment processing, invoices, and the Customer Portal for Plus.
• Vercel hosts this public website and provides aggregate web analytics.

Your control

You can remove selected sources, clear temporary context, choose the on-device path, forget saved contexts, and sign out. For access or deletion requests concerning server-side account records, email contact@statecrescent.com. Records required for security, payment, tax, dispute, or legal obligations may need to be retained.

Limited use and security

Aelipsis uses information received through Chrome extension APIs only to provide its source-comparison features. Its use adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements. Hosted transfers use HTTPS; provider and billing secrets stay server-side. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Changes and contact

Material changes to source handling will be reflected here and, where required, disclosed in the extension before changed collection begins. Questions or security reports can be sent to contact@statecrescent.com. Do not include passwords, payment data, or sensitive source content in an initial support message.
